I Can’t Beleive It’s Over !

Oh well ! Another Thanksgiving Holiday bites the dust ! I look forward to the time off  rather than the actual Holiday these days ! Tomorrow it is back to the old grind.

I had some time to myself today and made a really interesting revelation. This was the first Holiday where I can remember feeling like I looked decent. The holidays of the past involved agonizing over what to wear , because everything made me look fat. Trying on the few things I had , trying to cover up this or that. I would inevitably end up wearing the biggest and longest sweater I could find and a pair of jeans, or sometimes ever sweat pants ! This year I wore jeans and a top that actually fit ! I even wore my new brown boots ! I forgot to ask my husband to take a picture, I wish I had one just to commemorate my first Holiday at goal weight ! It was nice to feel good about myself for once, and not feel uncomfortable in my own skin ! It was a totally different feeling than I am used to,but different in a good way.

This morning I got up to take care of the dogs [house sitting] and drove into the driveway only to find that the people were HOME ! I got the dates messed up! I thought they were coming home tonight at 7pm, turns out it was last night. So I drove home thinking I would crawl back into bed. I did , but couldn’t sleep and neither could Matt so we ended up way too early !

I had some tea with Santa, because I didn’t want to eat breakfast too early. It makes for a long time until lunch !

At 8:30 I could wait no longer ! I was craving my Magic Cookie ! Since we went food shopping last night, I stocked up on a few add-ins for my cookies. This cookie had chocolate peanut butter, pecans, chocolate chips, coconut, and some marshmallow fluff ! It was awesome !

After breakfast, I started doing some more Christmas decorating. I did up the mud room, and finished up the kitchen, but decided I needed to go back to the Dollar Store for a few more things. I scored big time too ! I got a table-cloth for our Christmas Eve open house and a runner, some pretty napkins, some cute little felt trees , a little tin Santa, and some Christmas hand towels for the bathroom and dish clothes for the kitchen ! Next weekend we are buying new lights [ I didn’t like the colors of last year’s lights] for the outside of the house and we are done in the decorating dept. All that is left is cookie baking, that we do with Kate every year.

We had to make a quick stop at Walmart and found this ……………

Matt was really excited to find this recipe ! He is super picky about tomato sauce and prefers to make his own using Spatini Seasoning Mix. [Did I ever mention that my hubby is a trained chef ?!!! The man who hates just about all food !  He didn’t like the restaurant business so he is now an electrician !]  The only problem is that they stopped making it ! So we pretty much bought the whole book for this recipe !

When lunch rolled around I wanted something light because we had a big dinner planned for tonight. I had some peach Chobani with 1/2 scoop of protein power and some granola.

Along with the yogurt I had 2 clementines for dessert.

For the rest of the afternoon I was a bum ! I watched , what is to me the ultimate 80’s movie Three Men And A Baby . I was an 80’s girl , and the clothes in that movie brought me back ! Hideous boxy jackets and stirrup pants ! And the hair ! I had that big curly piggy-back perm too !!!!! It cracks me up ! The stuff I wore out and about is the same stuff the kids I know are wearing for Halloween costumes !!!!!!!

Matt made us dinner tonight. On Sunday nights if it is at all possible, we try to have dinner together. During the week is tough, and since we rarely eat the same meals it is even tougher ! Tonight Matt made rigatoni with a red sauce and mini-meatballs . He also made Texas Toast , and I had some of course! That stuff is so good ! Matt dished out my plate for me before I got in the kitchen to do it myself! He really piled it on! I am not ashamed to admit ……. I ate every last bite ! It was DELICIOUS !!!!!! The whole meal !

I am skipping dessert tonight . I think I ate more than enough dinner to make up for it !

I have everything prepared for tomorrow. Both of our lunches are made , and even my breakfast [Magic Cookie], clothes for my workout and work are ready to go ! I think I will hang out with Matt for a little while and crawl in bed to read ! Another week lies ahead and I will hopefully be ready for it, with a smile on my face and a song in my heart ! ( NOT !!!!!!!!! ) Sleep tight !

To Do’s Saturday

This Saturday , as is true for most Saturdays, I had a To Do List a mile long.

 

Matt and I were both in bed last night a little before 8:30 ! That hardly ever happens ! I am usually the early bed goer in the family, he is the night owl . But for whatever reason we were both beat ! The alarm sounded for me at 5:00 am and I was off to take care of the dogs. [house sitting ] When I got home at 6:15 , I crawled right back into bed and slept until 9:18 !!!!!! Now that is late ! I must have needed it though , because it felt incredible !

 

Thankfully , breakfast  was simple this morning. I had 2 leftover pancakes from yesterday, and all I needed to do was heat them up and eat them ! I wanted some fruit with breakfast , but we were all out !

After breakfast I got to work on my huge list of To Do’s. I think I got more than half of them done before it was time to go back out and take care of the dogs again !

 

I took a break from To Doing around 1:00 and had some lunch. I had a Vanilla Chobani Yogurt with granola and I decided to try another little experiment. I added 1/2 a scoop of vanilla protein powder to the mix. I noticed what a great difference the powder made when I had it with my Breakfast Cookie, now formally renamed the Magic Cookie , by me ! I was afraid that I would taste a difference , but I didn’t . I was wondering if I would be satisfied after eating it like I am when I eat the Cookie.

 

For dessert with my lunch I had a Tootsie Roll. I was in the mood for something chocolate ! I am happy to report that the yogurt with the added protein  powder DID curb my appetite for the rest of the day ! I didn’t need an afternoon snack , and I didn’t eat dinner until 6:00 ! Does this stuff really make a difference ? Am I on to something here? Is it just me? Or is it all in my head ? Honestly , I don’t even care ! I am just thrilled that it works this way ! I hate the stuff in smoothies, which is what I originally bought it for. It usually made me feel nauseous , and the taste was too much for me anyway, I could hardly gag the whole thing down ! I have tons of it that I never used , and now I’ve found a new use for it ! Next time I have oatmeal for breakfast I will try it in that and see if the effect is the same !

 

Matt and I went food shopping around 5:00 so by the time I got to dinner I was hungry ! I heated up left over chicken and Annie’s Mac & Cheese , then added a spinach salad to have with it.

 

After dinner I put together my “Magic Cookie” for tomorrow’s breakfast and stuck it into the freezer.

No dessert tonight because I will probably end up having a snack since I will be up later tonight than usual. I am not sure what that snack will be. Maybe some popcorn, or some honey wheat pretzels ! Something snaky to have while catching up on The Biggest Loser on DVR !

Tomorrow we have some errands to run and the second half of my To Do List to conquer ! It is also the last day of house sitting [they come home tomorrow night at 7pm] ! I will be glad for this job to be over with ! I hardly ever house sit in the winter, mostly in summer. It is a lot easier for some reason when it is warmer out. Especially climbing out of bed so early !

………. And The Holiday Season Begins !

By the time I finished blogging last night I could barely keep my eyes open ! I must be getting old, because any change in my usual routine is exhausting ! I slept like a baby last night , until the blasted alarm clock woke me at 5am and I was off to take care of business. It was cold and damp, so the dogs I am caring for did NOT want to stay outside for very long, not that I could blame them. I had every hope of going back home and crawling right back into bed for an hour, but when I reached the my house it was apparent everyone [my niece slept over last night] was awake. Oh well !

We hung out for a while until Matt had to leave for work and then I made Kate a special surprise !

 

Cadbury Drinking Chocolate with a plop of whipped cream on top !

 

I think she kinda like it !!!!! Then I set to work on a special breakfast for us.

 

I made a batch of Protein Pancakes :

  • 1 c. of oats
  • 1 c. of fat-free cottage cheese
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1/4 t. of vanilla
  • 1/4 t. of cinnamon
  • 2 packets of Slenda

Blend it all up in the blender and your batter is all set for spooning out into pancakes. This recipe makes about 6 good size pancakes. I usually eat 2 and put the rest in the fridge to reheat for the next day. They are just as good reheated.

 

I did my best not to let Kate see that I was using cottage cheese in the pancakes because I knew it would turn her off. She would not like them before she even tasted them ! Unfortunately she must have seen me use it because when I asked if she liked them she said, ” yes and no”. I asked her what she didn’t like about them, and she said, “when I bite into them they taste like cheese ……. “! Oh well I tried! In this picture she is putting up a brave face !

 

Here is my breakfast ….. 2 pancakes with Olivio and a little sprinkle of cinnamon /sugar ! They were awesome, and did NOT taste like cheese !

 

While Kate played I worked out.

  • Free weight Circuit x2
  • 30 min. HIIT on the Spin Bike

By the time I was done with my workout it was time for lunch.

 

No time for anything big and involved , so I just had a banana with peanut butter.

 

And a handful of milk chocolate and peanut butter chips. Then it was time to get to work !

 

We have a tradition that’s been going on since Kate was a baby. We always put up the Christmas Tree together the day after Thanksgiving. She is always with me on that day (because my sister works in Retail) . We decorated the tree and decorated the rest of the house too. I also like to do it early because I like it all down and put away the day after Christmas ….. I like beginning the New Year with everything back in order. ( I know I am weird)

I made this in 2nd grade for a Christmas Bazaar my school/church was putting on. I got in trouble from one of the Nuns because I painted it too sloppy , and she told me no one would ever buy it. I went home in tears and told my mother about it. My mother went to the Bazaar and searched for it and bought it. She brought it home and told me she bought it because she thought it was beautiful. I do too , and still hang it on my tree !

 

Someone gave this to us on our first married Christmas together. [ Matt loves Penguins]

After all the Holiday decorating I was hungry again !

 

As a snack a had a serving of corn chips and 1/2 c. of cottage cheese …… I like to dip the chips in the cottage cheese, I usually add some salsa to it but I didn’t have any. This was just as good though.

 

For dinner tonight I had Talapia, with Lemon Pepper Seasoning and some couscous. I planned to have a salad with it , but when I went to make it the lettuce was inedible ! Good thing tomorrow is food shopping day !

 

Last but not least , dessert. Mint Oreo Cookie FroYo  with some chocolate syrup [lite] and a dollop of whipped cream.

It is a cold rainy night here in CT. I usually love to catch up on some DVR shows and stay up late on Friday nights, but tonight I think I will curl up in my nice warm bed and catch up on some reading ! Have great night !

Thanksgiving Festivities !

What a day ! I got up at 5am to take care of the dogs [I am house sitting for]. When I got home, I did my planned  cardio workout. I figured I should just get it out-of-the-way as soon as possible !

After my workout I settled in for some breakfast ! I munched leisurely while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade ! I had a cup of Green Tea, and a Breakfast Cookie. The original plan was to eat breakfast and a snack before going to my brother’s for dinner at 3:00. Unfortunately the day got away from me and I had no time for anything ! Thankfully , my Breakfast Cookie kept me going. I think I will rename these Magic cookies !

When I got to my to my brother’s I was hungry, and dinner was being served soon so I has a 2 of these to tide me over ……. crackers with a smear of port wine cheddar cheese.

Dinner was great ! Here is my family ! Gorgeous huh?

I decided before I went that I would eat what I wanted ! My favorite part of Thanksgiving Dinner is stuffing ! I love it and only eat it once a year ! It was really good ! I went back for second.

For dessert I made myself a little sample plate ! A slice of pumpkin pie, [I almost devoured it before I got a pic of it !] . a slice of apple pie, and a slice of my husband’s legendary Peanut Butter Pie ! He only makes it at Holiday time and it is to die for !!!!!!!!! My brother always asks for an extra pie all for himself , and my husband always obliges !

It was a fun day full of family time, laughter and fun ! Oh and also FOOD! I am stuffed [but not sick ,thankfully !] and ready to relax! My niece Kate is sleeping over tonight, and she is finally settled in bed . I am about to shower and watch some TV before going to bed myself ! I hope everyone had a great Holiday !

My Plan For Turkey Day

For me, the week is over and I couldn’t be happier ! The morning dragged , but the afternoon flew by !

Here in the US tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I’ve been thinking a lot about exactly how I am going to handle this first Thanksgiving that I am trying to maintain a weight loss. With some help from a few articles on the subject and some really insightful blog posts , I’ve come up with this plan:

  • I am going to workout in the morning. Tomorrow is cardio day for me and I plan on making sure I get it done. We are not going to dinner until 3:00 so I will have plenty of time , so no excuses !
  • I am going to eat what I want and what I most enjoy. I am not going to eat until I am sick ” just because……..” I am going to take small servings of everything, if I find that I am still hungry I will have some more, but I will not be loading my plate to the brim and scarfing it all down like it is my last meal on earth !
  • I will eat a light healthy breakfast and snack before I go to dinner. I usually try to starve myself before hand , thinking it will be fewer calories in the end. What usually ends up happening is , I am so hungry that I eat way too much and , feeling entitled because I starved all day , totally over do everything ……….and again , that leaves me sick and sleepless in return !
  • Although I am allow myself to eat what I want , I am containing it ! What I mean is, I am allowing myself ONE MEAL ……… not an entire weekend’s worth , not even a whole day and night’s worth ! Just one meal of special , holiday foods and then pick up my regular habits as soon as that meal has ended !
  • Make the Holiday less about food and more about spending time with the people I love. I always end up making such an issue in my head over social occasions that include eating. I spend so much time thinking about what I will eat ,and how much I will eat , that I forget the real reason for the get together in the first place ! The day is not about the food , the day is about family !

So there you have it ! Some guidelines I plan to use for the my Thanksgiving Day Festivities. I have been thinking about this entire Holiday Season and realized that if I keep myself in check, I shouldn’t do too much damage. There are only 3 real danger days for me. Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (which I host so I will be doing more running around than actual eating) and Christmas Day. New Years is quiet for us. We usually play Rock Band (I sing …..) until midnight and then we have a toast to the new year and go to bed. No real food traps. We do have a “Special Dinner” that night but I can control that easy enough.

Soon after the New Year is my birthday [Jan. 6]. Sometimes we go to lunch , and/or a movie, but that’s about it. I will make myself a cake, but it will be a Diet Soda Cake so no biggie there. If I stay mindful , and keep the special occasion meals contained and moderate, I just might make it through the Holiday Season unscathed ! Let’s hope !

On to the day’s eats :

As I mentioned yesterday , today was a super early day for me ! I was up at 2am working out : circuits and 20 min. of HIIT on the treadmill. I needed to get myself out of the house by 5am in order to let the dogs out, feed them and play with them and get my butt to work by 6:30. I decided to pack up a Breakfast Cookie and eat it while the dogs were getting some air.I also had a banana with my cookie. Sorry that I am not more creative with my breakfasts lately. I am just totally blown away by these cookies ! I am not hungry for hours after I eat it !!!!!!!!! I still can’t believe it ! I keep thinking it is just a fluke, but again today I was set until after 11:00 ! I am usually hungry by 9:00 !

My late morning snack was an apple and some almonds.

Of course , true to form, everything went haywire at work right about lunch time. I never got to eat until 2:45 ! I had Laughing Cow cheese on a whole grain Sandwich Thin and some baby carrots.

After work I went back to see my charges, and let them out for a few hours. I finally left there about 5:45 and started for home !

When I got home from my marathon day, I was in no mood to fuss with dinner. I toasted a Sandwich Thin , heated up a chicken breast and had a chicken sammie and a salad.

Dessert tonight was 1/2 c. of Mint Oreo Cookie Frozen Yogurt and a squirt of chocolate syrup .

About now I am ready for a hot shower and my nice warm bed along with a good book ! I doubt I will make it through 2 pages before I nod off …….  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone ! Good night !

One More Day To Go !

This week flew by for me ! Probably because it is only a three-day week for me ……. but anyway, I am happy about it ! This post is going to be short and sweet. I ended up going to bed at 10:00 last night ! That may as well have been midnight in my world , because I ended up with only a few hours of sleep. I still got up this morning and got in my scheduled 60 min. of cardio, though. With Thanksgiving looming so close I can’t afford to miss even one workout this week.

I also started a 5 day house sitting job today. I didn’t get home until 6pm tonight so I think I am in for another late bedtime! Since I have to go let the dogs out tomorrow morning AND get my workout in , it will be a 2am wake-up call for me in the morning !

Since I knew I was going to be late coming home tonight, with little time to cook , I left this for my wonderful husband before I left for work this morning . Being the good Husband that he is …… he had it waiting for me when I got home !

I made another Breakfast Cookie for this morning. I used less liquid, and it was less wet and sticky , but just as yummy as yesterday’s !I was interested in seeing if the cookie worked the same magic for me today as it did yesterday. Keeping me satisfied for a little over 5 hours ! And it did ! I am impressed! In my eyes this is the perfect [miracle] breakfast ! Plus it tastes like I am eating something decadent, when I am really not ! Fooling my brain into thinking it is eating dessert for breakfast is OK with me ! Plus , since I make it the night before , it is so quick an easy! It has all the elements of perfect in my book !

Around 11:30 , my stomach was rumbling , so I knew it was time to eat something ! I had some baby carrots and humus.

I got around to lunch about 2pm. I had reduced fat peanut butter on a whole grain Sandwich Thin, and some whole wheat pretzels.

I also had these. No, not the whole tub , but just one, chocolate chip cookie ! I was taking the picture of it and my boss asked me why I was taking a pic of the cookies ………. I didn’t know what to say , so I just said, ……. ummmm, they are pretty ? I am such a dork !

Thanks to my husband, when I got home finally tonight, all I had to do was heat up a chicken breast and throw together my salad !

And last , but never least , dessert ! A Diet 7up cupcake and a glass of milk !

I am off to take a shower and try to fall asleep ASAP ! Although , tomorrow will be an early  and long day , I will keep in mind that it is the last day , and the remainder of the week will be easy ! Have a great night ! 🙂

First Day Back And The Breakfast Cookie

OK , first of all I am super late in posting tonight ! I got my hair done after work today and didn’t get home until 5:30 !!!!!! Matt picked up Kate [niece] up from school , did homework with her, and fed her dinner. By the time I got home I had to give her a quick bath before her mother came to pick her up ! I didn’t get to lunch packing and dinner making and eating until almost 7:00 ! I’ve already faced facts that I will probably not be in bed before 9:00 tonight ….. oh well , can’t be helped !

This morning was my first day back to working out and it was great ! I felt energized afterward , like old times !! I usually do body weight circuits 3x a week, but this month I decided to do a weight circuit. I had one tucked away that I tore out of Oxygen Magazine a few months back , and decided to give it a go ! It felt really good , and it was a nice change of pace. After the circuits I did 30 min. of HIIT on the treadmill. I’m glad to be back ! A vacation from working out turned out to be a nice place to visit ….. but I wouldn’t want to live there , you know ?

About the Breakfast Cookie. I used a little bit too much liquid when making it, so it was a little wetter than I think it was supposed to be , but the texture did not do anything to alter the taste . It was delicious ! Really ! And the best thing is, I ate it at 5:30 this morning and wasn’t hungry at all until 11:15 !!!! For me that is incredible ! I made another one to have tomorrow , using less liquid . I am trying to see if the satisfaction I got from it today was a fluke, or are these things the answer to my prayers ! A yummy breakfast that sticks with me for hours ! Who ever invented this recipe out there in Blogland is a GENIUS !!!!! I love them !

At 11:15, when my stomach started rumbling, I had some baby carrots and humus .

At 2:00 , I finally broke for lunch ! I had the old stand by. Chobani and puffed wheat cereal. I had about half of that apple, I ended up getting paged in the middle of it and was off and running again before I had a chance to finish it.

After work , as I mentioned I was off to get my hair done. I was there for 2 hours ! I got the works, cut , color and a touch up on my highlights , just in time for the holiday. By the time I got home I was really hungry. I needed something quick, easy , and yummy.

This meal has become my Monday go-to meal. My Chicken Quesadilla , made with Kashi Fiery Fiesta rice, re-fried beans, 1/2 a chicken breast and reduced fat cheddar cheese on a  tortilla. So good ! I also had a spinach salad with it.

Dessert tonight , 100 calorie Oreo Cookie Cakes and a glass of milk. I find that if I have 1 c. of Fat Free Milk with dessert, it fills me up and I don’t snack later on in the night.

I have another long day ahead of my tomorrow , so I think I will take a shower and crawl into bed ! Only 2 days to work !!!!! Have a great night !

Another Full Day / Weigh In Results

What a weekend ! But I am not complaining. I tend to feel good about weekends where I get a lot accomplished. It makes me feel better going back to work knowing that things are done. I am also not as unhappy to see this weekend end because I know that this week is a short one for me. I work only 3 days this week and I am free for four days ! A mini-vacation !

The first thing this morning I weighed myself. I am happy to report that I was 141.00 lbs. I am back within my goal weight range and that makes me very , very relieved and happy ! Now I can say that have maintained my weight for an entire 5 months ! Almost 1/2 a year , because Dec. 1st will mark my sixth month of maintenance. That makes me feel really good !

The weirdest thing about today’s weigh in is that I haven’t exercised in 4 days, and I’ve upped my calories a little ( to 1700 cal.) this week too. This tells me two things. One, I wasn’t eating enough. And two, I needed some time to let my body recover. So my short vacation from exercise helped me to lose a few pounds that were holding on for dear life for almost a month now . Quite interesting .

OK, about my day. This morning I got up around 8:00.

I had a banana and a cup of green tea for breakfast to hold me over. I had plans this morning that involved some not so great eating choices , so I didn’t want to eat too much!

One thing I do every Sunday morning in preparation for the week ahead is make up my husband’s lunch snacks for the week. I pack him lunch every day, so on Sunday I make him little bags of cookies and pretzels, and anything else he may want for the week ahead.  That way every night I just have to grab the bags and pack it in his cooler for the next day. I put all the snacks into this basket that I keep on top of the fridge. This saves me a lot of time !

At 9:15 ….. it was time for some fun !

At 9:15 we were off to see the movie I have been waiting for a year now !!!!!!!! We went to see New Moon !!!!!!!!!! I have to admit, at 45 years old, I am a Twi-hard ! I’ve read all the books twice, and loved them ! I am not ashamed ( although I probably should be) to admit, I love the series .

I am however , ashamed to admit I gave in to a large popcorn with butter ………. but halfway through it , I realized that it was gross. Too salty, too greasy. Why is it I always forget that whenever I walk into a movie theater? For some reason I just feel like a movie isn’t a movie without the popcorn ! I wouldn’t mind the calories if they were worth it ……. but to be honest, it just isn’t ! It left me with the worst filmy taste in my mouth !

Thankfully I brought a box of these in my purse ! Yeah , I had half a large popcorn AND chocolate covered raisins ! Now they were worth the calories!!!! Yum

The movie was good, and the story stuck pretty close to the book. The first half was a little slow , but the second half was great ! I loved the wolves ! Eclipse was my favorite book of the series, so I can’t wait for that to come out in June ’10 !!!!

Because of my major morning of  “not so great choices” I wasn’t hungry for the rest of the day. I had some green tea, and watched The Biggest Loser on DVR while I made myself some chicken breasts for the coming week. Then I decided to try a recipe I have been wanting to try for a while now. Breakfast Cookies have been floating around the Blog World for a while now . I have been dying to see what they taste like so I made one for tomorrow morning.

  • 1/3 c. oats
  • 1 T. nut butter
  • 1/2 scoop protein powder
  • 1/8 c. milk

Add Ins :

  • 1 T. slivered almonds
  • 1 T. walnuts
  • 1 T. coconut
  • 1 T. chocolate covered raisins
  • 2 packets of Slenda

I used Dark Chocolate Dreams for my nut butter, and the add ins are my own . The first half of the recipe is the basic recipe , the add ins can be anything you want …. be creative and put in the combination you like best.

Mix together ingredients …….

Then I took the mixture and molded it into a cookie on a dessert plate, wrapped it in plastic wrap and stuck it in the fridge. It looks and smells good , it’s packed with protein and fiber , I’ll let you know tomorrow if it was any good !! I hope so, it was super easy and there are so many combination to try , it could be the perfect breakfast, or even lunch ! I’ll keep you posted !

Dinner tonight was Talapia  and couscous with a spinach salad . It was really good !

For dessert (yes I had dessert even though I ate horribly today !) I had 1/2 c. of low-fat frozen yogurt. Mint Cookies and Cream ! Yum !

I am really tired from a long , crazy weekend ! A part of me dreads to go back to work after the horrendous day I had on Friday , but I am comforted to know that I only have 3 days to put up with it this week , no matter what happens ! For now, I am going to go and snuggle up in my bed and read !

See ….. even Zoey is tired from this weekend ! Sleep well !

A Whirlwind !

The past few days have been NUTS ! Friday at work was insane. I was told to do something by the administrator of the building, the “Big Boss”. I knew this task was going to send the whole building into a tailspin , but when I asked my direct supervisor about it, I was told that the task had nothing to do with our department. ( what? then why was I being asked to do it ?) So I did the task at 9:00 and waited for the “you know what” to hit the fan ! By noon , it did ! Big time !So, I spent the remainder of the day defending myself, and trying to fix the impossible problem. I walked out of work with the most horrendous headache ever !

When I got home it was time to begin our project ! I wasn’t really in the mood, but really wanted to get it started. Time to paint the living room !

 

Here is the prep part of the project. We moved everything out of the living room, except the big stuff. All that stuff got moved into the center of the room,. Then the taping began ! The entire house looked like a bomb went off in it ! The plan was to do the taping and the first coat of paint Friday night , and finish it and put the room back together on Saturday morning. But once we got started we were on a roll ! We ended up working until almost 2am!!!!

We painted 2 coats and put all the big stuff into the room, before we finally crawled into bed feeling wrecked !

 

It was a lot of work, the room is pretty big. But the end result was worth it !

 

We were going to order a pizza last night , but decided, as it grew later and later, that we would treat ourselves to a good breakfast in the morning. When we finally got up this morning, (around 8:30) we got dressed and headed out to a little diner in town. I forgot my camera so I have no pics. I had 2 eggs over easy, Canadian bacon, hash browns, and rye toast. I ate every bite too, it was soooo good !

After breakfast we headed to the grocery store to buy a few things for the short week ahead.

 

We stopped at the local Dollar Store , where I got some cute Holiday plate and bowls to add a little Christmas to my meals ! 🙂

When we got home I started on the long list of chores  I had planned for the day ! I cleaned the whole house, did laundry, and did some organizing !

 

I finally got around to having lunch at about 2:00 ! I made myself a quick banana with peanut butter !

 

I organized my baker’s rack, because it was becoming a catch-all for all everything !

 

I also organized my hall closet ! It was literally bursting at the seams with junk ! I had stuff in there I forgot all about !

 

Like all of my place mats, and my forgotten napkin ring collection ! My mom started this collection , and after she died I took it over and added to it ! I love napkin rings , and anything that has to do with setting a pretty table. I just never seem to have the time or the occasion to use them :(. I think one of my New Years Resolutions will be to try to make at least one meal each day more of an occasion !

 

Around 4:00 I was feeling a little hungry, but it was too close to dinner time for anything big so I had some of these. I had 10 pieces , for 80 calories …. not to bad for something quick and sweet.

 

For dinner tonight I had a chicken breast , with mini cheese ravioli and a spinach salad with reduced fat cheese, and sunflower seeds.

 

After dinner , Matt and I helped my niece Kate with her science project. My wonderful husband was outside in the pitch dark looking for rocks in the yard for her to use.

 

The finished project ! Not bad huh?

All I have left to do is fold laundry and put it away, and take a nice hot shower !!!!!!!!

 

When everything is finally done, and I am ready to relax …… this is how I plan to spend my time ! Twilight , and popcorn ! Perfect !

At least all of my “To Do’s”  are done , so that I can relax and do whatever I want tomorrow ! And that’s the plan ! I am excited about tomorrow. I am doing something I have been waiting to do for a year now ! It will be a great, relaxing, Sunday for me and I cannot wait !

It Wasn’t As Hard As I Thought. Is That Bad ???

This morning was surprisingly easy ! I slept an hour later than usual, and took my time getting ready, had a relaxing breakfast and drank my tea. I wasn’t anxious. I didn’t have the feeling that I was missing something. I was fine. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Was it my body telling me thank-you , or my motivation slipping away ?The weirdest thing was , I woke up feeling sore ! Not crazy sore , like I couldn’t walk or raise my arms. Just a subtle soreness. Possibly it was my body recovering …….. I’d like t think so.

I’ve gone over my ” Exercise Bible” and I’ve already planned out my workouts for the next 4 weeks that will begin Monday. I am trying to keep in the front of my mind that this is a temporary vacation from exercise, so I don’t get too comfortable with it ! But I have to admit, this morning felt good. But so does a really great workout, so I guess it is a toss-up !

I’ve made the decision that , since Thanksgiving is in one week, I am going to try to stick to plan, no extras and lay off the treats ( aside from Sunday , that is going to be special !) I am going to do everything in my power to enjoy this holiday season without going overboard. I am determined to keep myself under control !

When I reached my goal weight in June, I remember thinking to myself that January 2010 would be the first  New Year were losing weight would NOT be one of my resolutions ! I think it has been on the top of my New Year promises to myself since I was a teenager ! ( and didn’t need to lose weight !) It is very important for me to get to the New Year at goal weight !

 

Breakfast this morning was a repeat of Sunday’s oatmeal concoction ! It was so good I just had to have it again ! Apple nuked with cinnamon and sugar added to oatmeal , and apple granola ! It is heaven ! And it keeps me satisfied for hours. I added a hard cooked egg on the side for protein , and that helped balance out the meal   so that it stuck with me for a while .

 

I’ve been noticing that when I don’t eat enough during the day , the urge to snack before bed is unbearable ! I actually whitened my teeth [with white strips] last night to keep me from eating something I shouldn’t !  Because of that I put back an AM snack with both protein and carbs. I had a banana and some almonds to carry me through until lunchtime.

 

I bought this a while ago and forgot about them. I thought  , since I was bored with yogurt and I needed something simple because of the kitchen situation at work, this would be a perfect change of pace ! Fat Free Tuna Salad with whole grain crackers. It was pretty good ! I would buy them again to have in a pinch. I also had an apple with it.

 

Tonight I was feeling ambitious with dinner. I made another batch of Zucchini Boats ! Since I’d already made them once , it didn’t take long at all to get them assembled and into the oven . while they cooked I made Matt’s lunch for tomorrow and took a shower . They were awesome ! I am going to try another variation of them sometimes soon. There are so many ways you can switch up this basic recipe . I love the fact that one boat is a complete meal unto itself !

 

For dessert tonight , I had a Diet 7 up cup cake and a glass of Fat Free Milk.

That’s it for tonight ! The plan is to catch up on some blogs , brush my teeth and read until I fall asleep ! Boring ? Yes. But it keeps me from picking at little things so I guess I will settle on boring ! Sleep well all !
